The Swim Flip Of A Fish

The Swim Flip Of A Fish - Trey/Trey Bork

Unlike the Pawn in Western Chess, the Fish in Khmer Chess has no power to advance two spaces on its first move. Fish swim forward one space at a time, but attack the opposing piece one space forward diagonally.

Fishes are the only pieces that can be promoted upon reaching the sixth rank (i.e. the opponent's third rank),  Without limit of number, the Fishes becomes Promoted Fishes (Trey Bork) and have the same power of move as the Queen (Neang): one space in any direction.
